Progressive Religious Institutions Ask Supreme Court To Defend Women's Health and Abortion Rights

On March 2, 2016, the Supreme Court heard arguments in a case challenging Texas laws that pretend to protect women's health while denying them the right to an abortion. These laws, known as TRAP (Targeted Restrictions on Abortion Providers) laws, force needless medical requirements on free-standing clinics that have, in effect, made the cost of providing abortions or obtaining them prohibitive.
