Environmental Justice: A Religious Socialist View
April 22 is Earth Day, and in honor of the day -- coincidentally, Lenin's birthday -- we are publishing a classic from the Religious Socialism archives. As the struggle to restrain climate change enters a new stage, with ever higher stakes, we would do well to remember the deep roots of the environmental movement, and how what once was a lonely battle has become a global movement for justice, rooted in solidarity. Norman Faramelli makes a case that cannot be made too often: to be a socialist is also to be an environmentalist, and to be a believer is also to be a champion of the creation we all share.
